The Riverside path between Derby and Borrowash along the south bank of the River Derwent forms part of the Heritage Way walking route. It is also part of the Derwent Valley Cycleway (and National Cycle Network 6).
For many years the surface has been deteriorating due to flood damage and insufficient repairs and use of the path after rain was sure to result in very filthy conditions.
We’re pleased to see that recent work by Derby City Council (assisted by Sustrans) has resulted in a 3km section of the route (east of Raynesway tip to Borrowash Bridge) being resurfaced with a high quality 3m wide tarmac surface.
